Spicy and wonderful, with enough seasoning for the meat and to make a dipping sauce for serving as well. the traditional Portuguese BBQ dish you can make easily at home loaded with paprika and chillies.
Makes 6 servings. 30 g (1 oz)
Ingredients: spices (paprika), salt, dehydrated vegetables (garlic, onion), monosodium glutamate.

What you Need:
- 10-20 g (1-2 tbsp) Portuguese Piri Piri Seasoning (to taste)
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) olive oil
- 5 ml (1 tsp) lemon juice
- 6 chicken breasts (or 1 whole chicken)
What to do:
In a large bowl, mix together first 3 ingredients & rub on all sides of chicken breasts. Let marinate in refrigerator for a few hours, even better if marinated overnight. In a skillet over medium-high heat, pan sear chicken to brown all sides, but do not cook through. Transfer chicken to oven-proof dish and bake in 350°F pre-heated oven for approx. 30 minutes, or barbecue at 315°F for approx. 20 minutes until cooked through. Serve with Piri Piri dipping sauce (recipe below).
Piri Piri Dipping sauce:
- 10 g (1 tbsp) Portuguese Piri Piri Seasoning
- 250 ml (1 cup) real mayonnaise
- 5 ml (1 tsp) lemon juice
Mix all ingredients in a medium bowl. Best if prepared a couple of hours in advance. Can be used to dip chicken, potato wedges, French fries, vegetables.
Vegan/Vegetarian Substitutes:
Alternatives: tofu, tempeh, seitan, plant-based chicken; vegan mayonnaise
